What we keep, and what we don't.

Last updated: May 27, 2026

In short

Say Kindly is a quiet writing companion. We store the people you add, the notes you draft, your voice settings, and the sources you save to your library. We don't sell your data, and we don't use your content to train public models.

What we store

  • Your email address, display name, and (optional) avatar URL.
  • People you add — name, relationship, phone (optional), and any notes.
  • Notes you draft, with recipient name, occasion, format, and the final text.
  • Your voice profile — the tone, faith setting, and writing samples you choose to share.
  • Library sources you save (URLs, titles, and short summaries).

Who sees it

Only you. Database access is scoped by row-level security to your account. A small number of trained staff may access your data when you ask for support.

How drafting works

When you ask Say Kindly to write a note, we send the inputs you provided — recipient name, relationship, occasion, your details, and your voice settings — to a large-language-model provider (currently Google Gemini, via the Lovable AI Gateway) to generate the draft. We don't store your data with that provider, and the provider does not use it to train its models under our agreement. We don't send your full library content unless you've explicitly attached a source to that note.

Saved links (Library)

When you paste a URL, we use a third-party scraper (Firecrawl) to fetch a public summary so Say Kindly can later weave its wisdom into your drafts. We only request public pages.

Your choices

  • Export all your data as JSON from your profile.
  • Delete any person, note, or source at any time from the app.
  • Delete your entire account and everything in it from your profile page.
  • Email hello@saykindly.com with questions.

Cookies & tracking

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We don't run third-party advertising trackers.

Children

Say Kindly is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If we make a meaningful change to this policy, we'll note it here and (if you have an account) send you a quiet heads-up.
